Amazing Uses of Lavender at Home

The versatility of lavender has been known throughout history with various accounts telling how the ancient Egyptians using it as perfume to the Romans using it to wash their clothes. But do you know there are many amazing ways that you can use lavender beyond its perfumery and soaps? Let’s explore a few of them for you!

1. Add lavender essential oil to a diffuser or oil burner

A diffuser is one of the easiest ways to add lavender to your home, but don't forget an oil burner works too!  Your house will be filled with the heavenly scent of lavender in no time.

 2. Add lavender to bath soaking salts

If you're looking for something to help you de-stress after a long day of work, why not try making some lavender bath salts? You can infuse some salts with lavender essential oil or dried lavenders, dissolve in warm bath and enjoy a relaxing soak.

 3. It enhances your space and great for home décor

Dried lavender is a great way to transform any area of the house into the relaxing space you want it to be. Display it on a vase or arrange it into a wreath for that added zen vibe.

4. Put lavender under your pillow to help you sleep

Lavender has long been recognized for its calming properties, which is why it’s considered a natural sleep remedy. Simply put a lavender sachet underneath the pillow or inside the pillowcase to improve sleep quality.

5. Add it to massage or body oil

Lavender is so versatile you can add it to your favourite carrier oil like sweet almond oil or jojoba oil for a relaxing massage. Plus, your skin will thank you for the added moisturisation.

 6. Freshen up your bed mattress

When you're in need of freshening up your bed, you can try adding few drops of lavender essential oil to a cup of baking soda and sprinkle over your bed mattress. Let it sit for an hour before vacuuming. This helps to keep your bed and bed linens from becoming musty, as well as giving them a lovely smell!

 7. Add a delightful twist to your favourite drink

Infuse a batch of lemonade with culinary lavender buds for a refreshing drink on a hot day. Or if you’re a wizard behind a bar, add a unique flavour to your go-to cocktail with lavender simple syrup. It’s the perfect way to cool down and unwind after a hard day’s work.
